Curfew to be continued till further order in Lakhimpur Kheri district

Curfew will be continued till further order in the entire city area of Lakhimpur Kheri district in UP.  It was imposed last night after violent incidents. School colleges will also remain closed till further order.

Senior police officers including DIG and IG Lucknow have reached the city and monitoring the situation.



Large number of central para military forces are deployed in the troubled areas.

Official sources says that trouble started when a video went viral on social media in which remarks hurting the religious sentiments of a community were made. A youth from Kanpur has been arrested in this connection.
