Cyclone 'Biparjoy', the first storm brewing in the Arabian Sea this year, rapidly intensified into a very severe cyclonic storm.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the very severe cyclonic storm will intensify further and move northwards during the next three days.
Gale wind speed reaching 130 to 140 kilometres per hour gusting to 155 kmph is likely to
prevail over east-central Arabian Sea today.
Squally weather with wind speed reaching 35 to 45 kilometres per hour gusting to 55 kmph is likely along and off Karnataka-Goa-Maharashtra coasts.
Fishing operations over east-central and adjoining west-central and south Arabian Sea have been suspended till 12th June.
