Cyclone Fengal moves towards Arabian Sea

In Tamil Nadu, moderate to heavy rains are continuing to lash the interior districts as Cyclone Fengal is making headway to reach the Arabian Sea. Continuous rains were witnessed in the Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai, Salem, Dharmapuri, Namakkal, Krishnagiri, Tirupattur and Nilgiris. 

In the hill areas of



Tiruvannamalai, boulders rolled down on houses in the foothills causing heavy damage. At least three houses were fully damaged. NDRF personnel began the rescue work this morning.

The Met Department has predicted widespread rains in some areas of the Coast for another 24 hours.
