Bhubaneshwar: In Odisha standing crops have suffered extensive damage due to the impact of cyclone Jawad. Though the cyclone had weakened into a depression by the time it approached the Odisha coast and moved north eastward among the coast at a distance of about 70 kms from Puri yesterday, yet all the coastal districts were lashed



with rains during the last 24 hours.

The extent of damage to Ravi crops line paddy and vegetables in the coastal areas will however be ascertained after the assessment is done by the state government in about a week's time as per its own commitment.
