Met department has asked fishermen who have ventured into the sea to return to coast owing to a cyclonic circulation which may intensify into a low pressure in the Bay of Bengal. It said a cyclonic circulation in northwest Bay of Bengal along the Odisha coast is likely to intensify into a low pressure by today. 

Fishermen have been advised to return to the coast and not to venture into the sea along and off West Bengal and Odisha coasts till August 15. Met department has forecast heavy rain in East and West Midnapore, South and



North 24 Parganas and Jhargram districts during the next two days.

The scientist at the department, Charan Singh said, heavy rain will occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Odisha, Coastal Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and northeastern states among others. Mr Singh also said the Monsoon is at its peak, with several states having received good rainfall.
