Darbhanga worst affected district, nearly 15 lakh affected in 11 flood-hit districts in Bihar

Nearly 15 lakh folks have been affected by floods in 11 districts of Bihar, and not less than 10 have misplaced their lives within the deluge, the catastrophe administration division mentioned on Sunday. According to the division, Darbhanga is the worst-affected district, as 5.36 lakh folks there have both been displaced or are trapped inside their houses.

Floodwaters have entered houses in Bishunpur village of Darbhanga district, forcing folks to wade by waist-deep water, at the same time as they try to salvage their valuables.

“We witness flood every year, but this year all records have been broken,” a resident of the village mentioned.

A complete of 131 panchayats of 12 blocks of Darbhanga district have been affected by the flood, the division mentioned in its bulletin.

In Muzaffarpur district, over two lakh folks have been affected, whereas the variety of victims in East Champaran has touched 2.72 lakh, the bulletin acknowledged.

Other districts affected because of the flood are Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Supaul, Kishanganj, Gopalganj, West Champaran, Khagaria and Saran.

 

“A total of 14.95 lakh people have been affected by floods at 625 panchayats of 86 blocks in 11 districts of Bihar,” the bulletin mentioned.

NDRF and eight of the SDRF are concerned within the rescue operations.

As many as 1.36 lakh folks have been evacuated from the marooned areas up to now, the division mentioned, including that 14,011 folks have put up in 26 aid camps.

Around 1.77 lakh folks had been being fed at 463 neighborhood kitchens within the state.
