Kurnool: Srisailam Temple will celebrate Dasara festivities from October 15. In this connection, the devasthanam authorities organised a preparatory meeting on Tuesday.
The meeting dwelt on various aspects of the event, including temple rituals for Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Bhramaramba Ammavaru, vahana sevas, decorations for Sri Ammavaru, arrangements for devotees, vehicle parking, darshan protocols and cultural programmes.
Addressing the gathering, temple executive officer D. Peddiraju emphasised on seamless coordination within all departments for the celebrations to be fully successful. He underlined that devotees must face no inconvenience during the event.
Among the decisions taken were installation of an LED screen at Gangadhara Mandapam to enable devotees to witness the ongoing events at the temple. The horticulture department will decorate the
environs with traditional flowers throughout the festivities.
Daily cultural programmes, such as Pravachanam, harikatha, traditional dances, and flute and veena recitals will be organised at the Nithya Kalavedika.
The Gramotsavam of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Bhramaramba Ammavaru will feature Nadaswaram, Kolatam, Chekka Bhajana, Nandikolu Seva and Thappetachindu, among others.
There will be frequent cleaning of the entire temple premises to ensure proper sanitation.
Peddiraju said detailed information about Dasara festivities will be communicated through social media channels.
Those present at the meeting included Board of Trustees member O. Madhusudan Reddy, chief priests of both temples, Vedic school faculty members, Vedic scholars, temple officials and supervisors.
