Dawood Ibrahim's ancestral plot, which was kept at a reserve price of Rs 15,440 was auctioned at a price of Rs 2 crore on Friday. This was the smallest plot of the four ancestral properties which was auctioned by the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Authority (SAFEMA).

The said properties are agricultural plots in Mumbke village in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district, which is the ancestral village of Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar.

As per a statement issued by SAFEMA, the properties belong to Dawood Ibrahim's mother, Amina Bi. SAFEMA attached these



properties in connection with cases related to smuggling and violations of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act against Dawood Ibrahim and his family members."

Earlier in 2017 and 2020, over 17 properties belonging to Dawood Ibrahim were auctioned by SAFEMA.

In 2017, SAFEMA successfully auctioned Dawood's properties, including Hotel Raunak Afroz, Shabnam Guest House, and six rooms in the Damarwala building near Bhendi Bazaar, fetching Rs 11 crore.

In 2020, SAFEMA auctioned six more of Dawood's properties, realising a total of Rs 22.79 lakh.
