The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the deep depression over the southwest Arabian Sea has moved west-northwestwards with a speed of 11 kilometres per hour during the past six hours. It is very likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm over the southwest Arabian Sea during the next six hours. IMD said it is also likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm by Sunday
evening.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the Southwest Arabian Sea till Monday. It said, very rough to high sea conditions are prevailing and likely to become high to phenomenal from Saturday. Squally wind speed of 55 to 65 kilometres per hour is prevailing and likely to increase gradually becoming Gale Wind speed gusting to 80 kilometres per hour from today.
