Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reviewed the preparations for the Aero India show in Bengaluru yesterday. The premier bi-annual event will be held from 3rd to 5th February at the Air Force base in Bengaluru. The Apex Committee Meeting on the show was attended by Karnataka Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa, Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, Secretary of the Department of Defence Production Raj Kumar and senior personnel from the Indian Air Force.
During the meeting, the Raksha Mantri emphasised on the need to conduct the event after taking every care to prevent any accident or spread of pandemic. He said that the hybrid model of the Aero India show with both physical and
virtual seminars and exhibition should be the template for the world to emulate till the concerns of the pandemic are addressed.
During the review meeting yesterday, Mr Singh launched the Aero India-21 mobile app with details of the event. This year’s Aero India theme is Runway to a billion opportunities keeping with Prime Minister’s vision for Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The indigenous technologies will be prominently on display during this show with active participation of Indian Aerospace and Defence Industry, Start ups and MSMEs. So far 576 exhibitors and over 35 foreign delegates have registered for the event.
