Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will officially inaugurate the 12th edition of MILAN 2024, the flagship naval exercise hosted by the Indian Navy in Visakhapatnam. He will also inaugurate the MILAN Village at the Eastern Naval Command base to mark the occasion.
The city of Visakhapatnam is fully prepared for the official launch of MILAN 2024, the largest multinational naval exercise of the Indian Navy. A mesmerizing full dress rehearsal was held yesterday with more than 2,000 personnel from participating Navies marching with pride echoing the spirit of international cooperation.
The Union Defence Minister will arrive in Visakhapatnam today
and participate in the inauguration ceremony at the Samudrika Naval Auditorium at the Eastern Naval Command. Speaking to Akashvani, the officials of Eastern Naval Command said that both the aircraft carriers INS Vikramaditya and the indigenously built INS Vikrant will take part in the exercise.
The officials also said that MILAN would be an excellent platform for the participating navies to share ideas and ensure the safety of maritime commerce for the growth and prosperity of all. MILAN is considered not just a military exercise but a platform for the future of international naval cooperation.
