New Delhi: Defence Ministry has extended the benefit of the provision of pro-rata pension to Junior Commissioned Officers with ten years of qualifying service in the Defence Service, who joined the Public Sector Undertaking on permanent absorption. 

Earlier this benefit was limited to the commissioned officers only. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has



approved a proposal of the Department of Ex-servicemen in this regard. 

The provisions will be applicable to those Junior Commissioned Officers who are absorbed and appointed in Central Public Sector Enterprises, Central Public Sector Undertaking on or after 6th March 1985 or Central Autonomous bodies on or after 31st March 1987.
