The nomination process for the 70-member Delhi Assembly started on Friday with the issuance of the notification for the polls. On the first day of nominations, nine candidates filed their nominations from different assembly constituencies. The last day for nominations is the 17th of this month. Meanwhile, candidates from different political parties have started campaigning in their areas to woo the voters. 

BJP candidate from New Delhi assembly constituency, Parvesh Verma, held door-to-door meetings in various areas of his constituency. Congress candidate from the seat, Sandeep Dixit, also campaigned. Aam Aadmi Party convener, Arvind Kejriwal, is contesting from this seat. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, who is contesting from the Kalkaji assembly constituency, also campaigned in her



area. 

On this seat, BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri visited Govindpuri and other areas. In the Malviya Nagar area, BJP candidate Satish Upadhyay and Aam Aadmi Party candidate Somnath Bharti also held meetings. BJP candidate from Rajouri Garden, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, organized a public outreach campaign to seek people’s support. AAP candidate from Shakur Basti, Satyendra Jain, BJP candidate from Bijwasan, Kailash Gehlot, AAP candidate from Madipur, Rakhi Bidlan, Congress candidate from Ballimaran, Haroon Yusuf, and other leaders also reached out to campaign to garner support.

Elections for the Delhi Assembly will be held on the 5th of next month, and the counting of votes will take place on the 8th of February.
