Delhi court to hear SAR Gilani's bail plea today

The bail plea of former Delhi University lecturer SAR Gilani, who is facing sedition charge, will come up for hearing today before the Metropolitan Magistrate in Delhi. He moved a bail application in this regard yesterday. Gilani was remanded to judicial custody till 3rd of March by a Metropolitan Magistrate yesterday and later lodged in the Tihar



Jail. 

The accused was arrested on Tuesday in connection with an event at the Press Club in New Delhi, where anti-national slogans were allegedly raised last week. He was presented before the Magistrate in a police station for remand proceedings in wake of unruly scenes in Patiala House Courts complex on Monday and Wednesday.
