A team of Delhi Police's Crime Branch unit landed at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s home on Friday evening to hand over a notice in connection with his allegations that the BJP was trying to poach Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs.

However, the Chief Minister's Office said that the crime branch sleuths returned without handing over the notice.

The Crime Branch’s action comes after a BJP delegation met the Commissioner of Police on January 30, seeking an inquiry into Kejriwal's "misleading allegation of BJP luring AAP MLAs".

BJP delegation asked for a probe by a Special Investigation Team (SIT).

In a press conference last week, Delhi Minister Atishi alleged that the BJP has offered Rs 25 crore each to seven of its MLAs to quit the party while also threatening to topple the Kejriwal government.

She claimed that

the recording of a person who contacted one of the party MLAs was available and would be shown later.

In a post on X, Kejriwal claimed that seven of his party MLAs had been contacted by "them", or the BJP, and warned that he could be arrested soon. The MLAs were allegedly promised Rs 25 crore and a BJP ticket each to contest the elections after the toppling of the Delhi government, the AAP leader charged. Kejriwal added that all the seven AAP MLAs refused to quit the party.

However, the Delhi BJP had rubbished these allegations and challenged AAP to name the MLAs and the people who allegedly contacted them with the offer.

Delhi BJP secretary Harish Khurana challenged Atishi to name the MLAs contacted and also those who reached out to them with the offer. He said AAP was trying to shift focus from Kejriwal skipping ED summons for questioning in the liquor scam.
