The air quality in the national capital, Delhi has worsened to the very poor category, with an average Air Quality Index (AQI) of 342 as of 7 AM this morning. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, some areas of the city have breached the 350 AQI levels.
The AQI at Delhi’s Nehru Nagar was recorded at 390, Rohini at 387, Wazirpur at 382,
Sonia Vihar at 378, Vivek Vihar at 377, Mundka at 376, R K Puram at 368, Okhla at 355 and IGI Airport was recorded at 353.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that Delhi and the surrounding NCR are likely to experience smog and shallow fog during the night and morning hours over the next two days.
