Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in the United States topped the Airports Council International (ACI) World list in 2024,

handling over 108 million passengers, followed by Dubai and Dallas Fort Worth airports. Delhi’s IGI Airport has climbed to the ninth spot, driven by expanding airline operations, upgraded infrastructure, and improved global connectivity. ACI forecasts global traffic will reach 9.9 billion passengers in 2025.

ACI World’s rankings are based on total passenger numbers, including those embarking and disembarking, with transiting passengers counted only once. Earlier, in 2018, IGI Airport was ranked as the 16th busiest airport in the world.
