National Capital Delhi’s peak power demand clocked 8,000 Mega Watt yesterday afternoon, the highest ever in history. It broke the record created just a day earlier. Yesterday afternoon, the demand surged to an all-time high of 7,717 Mega Watt and just hours later, the record was surpassed again, reaching seven thousand 726 MW. Previously, an all-time high peak power demand was recorded at Seven thousand 695 Mega Watt in June,
2022.
The discom officials have projected the city’s peak power demand to cross eight thousand MW this summer to top around 82 hundred MW.
