Department of Pensions and Pensioners Welfare, Government of India has launched a month-long Nation-wide campaign to make Pensioners aware of the use of Face Authentication technology for submitting Digital Life Certificate (DLC). Deepak Gupta, Under Secretary, Department of Pensions and Pensioners Welfare inaugurated the campaign today at JIPMER Branch of State Bank of India, Puducherry.
He said that the campaign was being conducted in 100 cities across the country. Pensioners can generate the Digital Life Certificate online by using two mobile apps and need not visit bank branches, Deepak Gupta added. He further said that Pensioners’ Welfare Associations have also been sensitized to hold camps for pensioners for generating Digital Life
Certificates.
V.E.Saravanan, Chief Manager, Regional Office, SBI, Puducherry in his presidential address informed that the SBI is serving nearly 5000 pensioners through the Centralised Pension Processing Centre in Puducherry Region. D.Sathish, Branch Manager, SBI JIPMER Branch, M.Muniasamy, Manager, Centralised Pension Processing Centre, Chennai and Office Bearers of JIPMER Pensioners’ Association also participated in the function.
The staff of SBI demonstrated how to process and get DLC through mobile. The awareness camps were simultaneously held at Agricultural Development Branch, Thattanchavadi branch, Manappattu Branch in Puducherry District and Virudhachalam Branch in Cuddalore District.
