Depression in the South East Bay of Bengal likely to intensify in next 24 hours

The depression formed in the South East Bay of Bengal seems to be moving North-Westwards towards the Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Northern Tamil Nadu coast. 

Weather officials said, it is lying at 1150 km South-East of Chennai and 1330 km South East of Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh. 

The MET Department said it is



likely to intensify into a deep depression by tonight and into a cyclonic storm during the subsequent 24 hours. 

From coming Saturday, some places in North Coastal Tamil Nadu are expected to witness light to moderate rain for two days, with the possibility of heavy rain at isolated places.
