Rashtriya Janata Dal made it clear on Monday that Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav, younger son of party chief Lalu Prasad, will not resign.
The decision came at the end of a crucial legislature party meeting in Patna at Mr. Yadav’s 10, Circular Road residence. RJD leaders accused the BJP of trying to break the grand alliance in Bihar “using the CBI and other investigating agencies.”
Pressure had been mounting on Mr. Yadav to resign ever since the CBI fled an FIR against him and raided
10, Circular Road, where he lives with his parents.
“RJD legislators and leaders praised Mr. Tejaswi Yadav’s work… he is the leader of the RJD legislature party and there is no reason for him to resign,” State Finance Minister Abdul Bari Siddiqui told journalists after the meeting.
“The present political scenario in the country is one of hatred and terror, and whoever dares to speak against Prime Minister Modi is being targeted and hounded like this,” he said.
