Dinakaran supporters attack OPS loyalists at Madurai airport, many injured

A massive clash broke out between supporters of AIADMK deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran and deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam at the Madurai airport leaving many injured.

Panneerselvam arrived at the Madurai airport around 7.20 pm on Thursday as he had to fly to Periyakulam. While Dinakaran, who had met Governor C Vidyasagar Rao earlier in the day, was scheduled to arrive at the airport and his supporters had also swarmed at the



arrival gate.

On seeing Sellur Raju enter the airport with Panneerselvam, Dinakaran's supporters raised slogans against him and in support of Sasikala. While raising slogans, a Dinakaran-supporter had to be pushed out of Panneerselvam's way. In the altercation, he received severe injuries and was rushed to a hospital.

Police had to resort to lathi charge to bring the crowd under control at the airport premises.
