Dineshwar Sharma meets around 13 delegations in Baramulla

The Centre’s interlocutor on Jammu and Kashmir, Dineshwar Sharma arrived in Srinagar on Monday for his third visit of the state. 

On reaching Srinagar, he headed for north Kashmir’s Kupwara and Baramulla districts to meet various delegations as part of holding sustained dialogue in Kashmir.During his two day stay in north Kashmir, Dineshwar Sharma met over 60 delegations in Kupwara and Baramulla districts.

Dineshwar Sharma described the meetings with the people in north Kashmir as very positive and encouraging.He said he got feedback about all kinds of issues that will help him understand all facets of Kashmir situation and probable solution to the issues.

Official sources said Mr Sharma met 32 delegations from various areas of Baramulla district. Sources said the delegations took up wide ranging issues during



meeting. 

Around 29 delegations met Dineshwar Sharma during Kupwara visit.Representatives from mainstream political parties including PDP, Awami Ittehad Party and Congress as well as college students from Baramulla district, youth representatives and members of minority communities of Sikh and Kashmiri Pandits had interaction with Centre’s interlocutor.

Dineshwar Sharma, a former IB chief, was appointed as Special Representative by government in October 2017 to hold sustained dialogue with all stakeholders in Jammu and Kashmir. 

However, the separatist amalgamation Hurriyat Conference, main trading bodies and Kashmir Bar Association have so far refrained from meeting him.Mr Sharma is leaving for Jammu today to meet government officials and is likely to meet Governor N N Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
