DMK Leader & Tamil Nadu CM Stalin removes Deputy General Secretary Ponmudi from his party

DMK Leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin today removed Deputy General Secretary Ponmudi from his party post. The step came after a controversial video surfaced where Ponmudi had made some derogatory comments about women, which also drew widespread criticism from various quarters, including DMK MP Kanimozhi. Ponmudi is also serving



as the State Forest Minister in the Stalin Government. 

The video of the Minister’s remarks had gone viral online, resulting in a speedy action by the leadership of the party. Trichy Siva has been appointed as the new Deputy General Secretary of the Party.
