Union Minister of Labour and Employment Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya yesterday directed the implementation of the Employment-Linked Incentive-ELI Scheme in a mission mode and stressed on a robust mechanism to ensure that the benefits of the ELI Scheme reach the true beneficiaries.

Dr. Mandaviya chaired a meeting on the ELI Scheme in which Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Shobha Karandlaje and senior officials of the Ministry and EPFO officials were also present.

The Union Minister said that the Government is committed to creating a sustainable and inclusive



employment ecosystem. He said that the ELI Scheme is designed to facilitate job creation and provide incentives to employers and employees.

The Ministry said that the ELI Scheme aims to create over two crore jobs in the country in a period of two years. It added that three schemes for ELI were announced in Union Budget 2024-25 as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s package of 5 schemes and initiatives to facilitate employment, skilling, and other opportunities for 4.1 crore youth over 5 years with a central outlay of two lakh crore rupees.
