Imphal: The Union Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar visited Indian National Army (INA) Memorial Complex at Moirang in Manipur yesterday. He pays homage to the INA leader Netaji Subhas Chandra Boss there and other heroes who fought the British during Second World War.
Expressing happiness on visiting such historical sites, the Union Minister told the media persons that Moirang city is a historical place in India. The tricolour flag was hosted here by INA during the Second World War. The site would attract
tourists and would also be a place for research purposes.
Shri Jaishankar also appealed to every Indian to visit the site as it is a significant place for the Indian Freedom Movement.
The Union Minister arrived in Imphal yesterday for three days visit to Manipur. He also visited War Memorial sites in Imphal on Sunday. He was accompanied by Union Minister of State for External Affairs Dr. RK Ranjan and other state ministers during the visit yesterday.
