External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will today participate in the prestigious National Heritage and Cultural festival 'Janadriyah' being held in Saudi Arabia.
Mrs. Swaraj arrived in Saudi Arabia on a three-day visit yesterday. During her visit she will meet with Saudi leadership to discuss bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj interacted with the Indian expat community in Saudi last evening and spoke at length about the growing relations between the two countries over the last few years.
About 3.2 million strong and vibrant Indian community forms the largest expatriate group in Saudi Arabia. She extolled the people friendly and citizen centric policies of the Indian government and stated that the issues of the Indian
community in Saudi are close to her heart.
Nouf Marwaai of Saudi Arabia who was recently awarded the Padam Shree also attended the community event. She urged the expats to visit the Janadriya festival to get a glimpse of modern and rapidly growing country at the India Pavilion.
Besides meeting the Saudi leadership, Sushma Swaraj who is on a three day visit to the Saudi Kingdom will today participate at the inauguration of the prestigious National Heritage and Culture Festival ‘Janadriyah’, at which India is the guest of honour country.
A special India pavilion has been set up in partnership with FICCI which will showcase India’s economic and technological strength. India’s tapestry of rich cultural heritage will also be at display at the Festival.
