An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 has hit the Sikkim region. The earthquake occurred at 3.12 am on Monday at the East Sikkim region. The earthquake was reported 11 kilometres away from Gangtok.
The incident comes a day after a moderate earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale rocked several parts of
North East and Myanmar. There have been no reports of any damage of casualty. The quake epicentre was located at the Myanmar-India border region.
Assam, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland are considered as the 6th major earthquake probe belts in the world.
