The Election Commission has
again issued a notice to Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar for his alleged
remarks asking people to accept money from others but vote for the BJP. It
asked him yesterday to give his reply by Thursday afternoon.
Earlier replying to the Commission’s first notice, Mr. Parrikar had said
that his words were wrongly translated and also questioned the authenticity of
the CD related to his speech made during the campaign for Goa Assembly polls. In
its fresh
notice, the poll body rejected the BJP leader’s contentions
maintaining that the CD is authentic.
Aam Admi Party convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Goa
Forward Party had earlier filed a complaint against the BJP leader for his
remarks. Mr. Parrikar had made such remarks while addressing a public meeting
in Chimbel, Goa on 29th of last month.
