EC announces by-polls for two Rajya Sabha seats

Election Commission yesterday announced by-polls for two Rajya Sabha seats. One seat is from Uttar Pradesh and other is from Karnataka. Notification for the polls will be issued on 25th of this month and Nominations can be filed till 2nd of next month. Polling and counting will be held on 12th of



December.

The seat in Uttar Pradesh was vacated by Samajwadi Party's Dr. Tazeen Fatma after her election to Uttar Padesh Legislative Assembly in the recently held bypolls. K.C. Ramamurthy of Congress who represented Karnataka in the Upper House recently resigned to join BJP.
