The Election Commission has appointed senior IAS officer Ajay V Nayak as a special observer for West Bengal. 

An official said, Mr Nayak will be overseeing the remaining five phases of Lok Sabha polls. The poll body has already appointed Vivek Dubey as a special



police observer to ensure free and fair voting in the state. 

Two Lok Sabha seats - Cooch Behar and Alipurduar - witnessed polling on 11th April, while the rest of the 40 constituencies in the state will go to polls in six phases.
