EC files 143 cases against different candidates for violation of model code of conduct in UP

Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, state election commission has filed 143 cases again different candidates for violation of model code of conduct. A total of 77 candidates have filed their nominations for the first phase of the election till date.

The last date of filing nominations for this phase is 21st January. BJP has announced two candidates for 2nd phase of elections in states



while Bahujan Samaj Party named one candidate from Shravasti district for the upcoming elections.

Meanwhile, political parties have intensified their poll campaign across the state. Samajwadi Party will launch its 300 unit free electricity campaign today. Party is also scheduled to hold two virtual rallies today.
