EC postpones Rajya Sabha Election to 10 seats scheduled for 8th June

The Election Commission has withdrawn its notification to hold biennial election to ten seats from Goa, Gujarat and West Bengal in Rajya Sabha. 

The term of six members of the Rajya Sabha from West Bengal and three from Gujarat was due to expire in August



and one from Goa in July this year. Earlier the elections were scheduled on 8th of next month.

In a press note, the commission said, the fresh programme for holding elections to the Rajya Sabha seats from these states will be announced in due course.
