Election Commission has postponed till 25th of this month the hearing in the office of profit case in which 20 Aam Aadmi Party MLAs are facing disqualification. Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat said, the hearing was postponed due to some administrative exigencies.

The EC was scheduled to decide on AAP MLAs' plea to cross-examine some officials of the Delhi government’s General

Administrative Department. The MLAs say the cross-examination is required to prove that they are not holding any office of profit. Election Commission had on January 19 this year, disqualified 20 MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party for holding the office of profit as parliamentary secretaries. Later in March, the Delhi High Court had quashed the move and asked the EC to hear the matter afresh.
