Raipur: A team of Election Commission of India, led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajeev Kumar, held a meeting to review district-wise preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections with the Collectors and Superintendents of Police of all the districts of Raipur in Chhattisgarh yesterday.

The CEC inquired about the progress of the second special summary revision work of the voter list going on in the State and insisted on making the electoral roll error-free. He directed to revise the voter list with



utmost seriousness and with precision. 

The Election Commissioner stressed the need for a strict vigil on the transportation of liquor, drugs, cash, and freebies in the State to monitor the election expenditure. He further instructed to act promptly in such cases without waiting for the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct. The ECI team is on a three-day visit to Chhattisgarh to review the preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections.
