Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached assets worth Rs. 5.3-crore belonging to former Karnataka Lokayukta Justice Y. Bhaskar Rao in a corruption case against him and his son. 

A Special Investigation Team, set up by the state government under public pressure in 2015, filed four charge-sheet under the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Corruption



Act. 

In a statement ED said, the probe found that Bhaskar Rao was in possession properties, amassed with criminal conspiracy, black mailing and extorting money from government officials in collusion with other co-accused. 

The state legislative assembly had adopted an opposition's motion on November 28, 2015 for Rao's removal.
