At least eight students were injured as clashes erupted between students and security forces in north Kashmir's Sopore town on Thursday.
Reports said clashes erupted after hundreds of students from Boys Higher Secondary school, Degree College and Government Girls Higher Secondary school Sopore took out protests against the recent student arrests. Unconfirmed reports said, the students raised anti-India slogans and hoisted flags of Pakistan in the college
premises.
Security personnel used tear smoke shells to stop the students' protest which led to clashes in the area, in which eight boys were injured while 20 girl students also fainted.
Students across Kashmir have been protesting since April 17, against police raid on a government college in Pulwama which led to violent protests in educational institutions across the valley. Nearly 200 students have been injured in the last more than two weeks of clashes between forces and protesting students.
