Eight terrorists have been killed in four counter-terror operations in Baramulla, Bandipora and Shopian districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
The slain terrorists include a top Lashkar-e-Taiba Commander from Pakistan.
The operation started on Thursday but the security forces had to proceed with caution as the terrorists had taken two civilians
hostage.
Officials said, while one civilian was rescued, the other - a 12-year-old boy - was killed by the terrorists in the Hajin area of Bandipora district. Seven security personnel also injured during the encounters at different places.
Security sources said, the slain terrorists belong to Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-Muhammad outfits.
