Election Commission Orders Removal Of Objectionable Post By Karnataka BJP On Social Media

Election Commission has directed social media platform X to immediately take down an objectionable post made from the handle of Karnataka BJP. In a letter to the Nodal Officer of ‘X’, the Commission said, post by the Karnataka BJP is violative of extant legal framework. It said, an FIR has already been registered in the matter. In its letter, the Commission also



highlighted the direction of Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka to the social media platform X to remove the objectionable post.

Earlier, the Congress had approached the Poll Panel over the tweet by the accusing the BJP of promoting enmity and hatred between the communities.
