An Election Commission of India (ECI) team will arrive in Patna today on a two-day visit to the state to review preparations for the forthcoming Assembly polls. The team includes Deputy Election Commissioners Sudeep Jain and Chandrabhushan Kumar. 

This is the first visit of the Election Commission team before the Assembly polls which is due in October-November. The tenure of the current Assembly is scheduled to end on November 29. During the two-day visit, the ECI team will hold meetings with DMs and SPs of different districts at Patna, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur and Bodh Gaya.

Soon after



arrival in Patna, the team will leave for Muzaffarpur where they will hold a review meeting with concerned officials of 12 districts including Darbhanga, Madhubani and Sitamarhi. In the afternoon, they will hold review meeting with DMs and SPs of seven districts including Nalanda, Bhojpur and Buxar in Patna.

After this the ECI team will hold meeting with the Director General of Police. Tomorrow, the ECI team will hold review meeting at Bhagalpur and Bodhgaya. Before returning to Delhi, they will hold review meeting with the Chief Secretary and other senior officials in Patna.
