Election Department of Ladakh reissues notification for general elections

In Ladakh, after the recent ruling of the Supreme Court, the Election Department of the Union Territory of Ladakh has reissued a notification for general elections to the 5th Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil.

This announcement comes after the Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh was directed by the Supreme Court to set aside its notification issued earlier. The Apex Court held that the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Party(JKNC) is entitled to the 'plough'



symbol.

The process will commence with the initiation of nominations tomorrow. Last date for nominations is 16th, the scrutiny of nominations will take place on 18th, and the last date for the withdrawal of nominations will be the 20th of September. Polling is scheduled for 4th of October, between 8 AM and 4 PM. 

The counting of votes will be held on 8th of October, with the entire election procedure expected to conclude before 11th of October.
