In Odisha, election to the Patkura Assembly constituency under Kendrapara district has been postponed following the death of sitting MLA and BJD candidate Bed Prakash Agarwal. Patkura is scheduled to go to polls in the 4th phase on 29th April.

yesterday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bhubaneswar. The Odisha Chief Electoral Officer Surendra Kumar had earlier written to the Election Commission of India appraising of the incident seeking a fresh date to conduct election for the seat.
