VIJAYAWADA: A flight of low-cost regional airline TruJet, 2T 200, that runs between Hyderabad and Chennai made an emergency landing at Vijayawada airport on Tuesday morning after the plane developed a technical snag minutes after take off.
All the 38 passengers and the crew members on board the aircraft are safe. Later, all the passengers have been accommodated in other flights to Chennai by the operator.
The 72-seater ATR-72 500
aircraft, operated by Turbo Megha Airways Private Limited, took off from Hyderabad at 6.40 am and landed at Vijayawada airport at 7.30 am as per schedule.
The flight took off from Vijayawada at 7.55 am with 38 passengers onboard.
"Minutes after taking off, the pilot noticed a technical snag and contacted the air traffic controller, requesting an emergency landing," said Vijayawada airport director G Madhusudana Rao.
