An encounter has broken out by security forces and militants in Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir. At least 3 militants are suspected to be holed up. The firing began late Wednesday night at the Malangpora village of Pulwama district in South Kashmir.
The firing began after security forces from the Army and the
Special Group of the Jammu and Kashmir police cordoned off a specific area in the village. Intelligence Bureau official tipped off security forces about the presence of militants in the area.
There was exchange of fire at first, but the same has stopped. Security personnel are now carrying out a search operation.
