Heavy rains lashed many parts of Telangana, keeping in view the present situation of the state the Director-General of Police M Mahender Reddy asked the police personnel across the State to be on alert following heavy rains across Telangana since the last few days.
Several tanks and canals are overflowing due to heavy rains and the floodwater inundated the roads at some places, an official release said.
The DGP held a video conference with the Commissioners/ Superintendents of Police on Sunday and
asked them to ensure there is no loss of life or property due to the heavy rains.
The DGP asked the police personnel to monitor the situation on a real-time basis and coordinate with the revenue officials at the district and town level.
The DGP said the police officials should also be present at the control room set up at the district collectors’ office and monitor the situation. He said higher were monitoring the situation from the headquarters as per the directions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
