Female sub-inspector mowed down to death during vehicle check in Jharkhand:

Ranchi: In yet another shocking incident, a female sub-inspector posted as in-charge of Tupudana OP has been allegedly mowed down to death during a vehicle check. The incident reportedly took place in Ranchi at around 3 am when the sub-inspector went for a routine vehicle check after receiving a tip-off.

SSP Ranchi informed that the suspect involved in the alleged crime has been arrested the vehicle used has been seized by the police. The deceased inspector has been identified as Sandhya Topno.

She was a 2018 batch constable, who was allegedly crushed by a pickup van and she died on the spot.

Cops got a tip-off that a pickup van was carrying suspicious items and the sub-inspector asked the pickup van to stop at the check



post. However, the pickup van did not stop and Sandhya Topno came in front of the pickup van. The driver did not stop and allegedly crushed her, which led to her death on the spot. The driver fled away from the scene but cops are tracing his whereabouts.

As per sources, there were no barricades in the check post and Sandhya Topno got out of her vehicle and attempted to stop the suspicious pickup van.

Several raids are being conducted in the area and CCTV footages are being examined to nab the driver.

The matter is being investigated thoroughly by the Ranchi Police.

This comes just a day after Haryana Deputy Superintendent of Police, Surender Singh was crushed 

to death by a dumper.
