In Jharkhand, the electoral process was initiated with an issuance of poll notification for the first phase of the State Assembly elections. In all, 13 Assembly Constituencies will go to polls in the first phase for which polling will be held on 30th of November.
As per the schedule, the nominations can be filed till 13th of this month and scrutiny of nominations will be taken up on 14th. The last date for withdrawal of candidature will be 16th of November.
The seats where polling will be held on 30th November are Chatra, Gumla, Bishnupur, Lohardaga, Manika, Latehar, Panki, Daltonganj, Bishrampur, Chhatarpur, Hussainabad,
Garhwa and Bhawanathpur.
Out of these, four seats are reserved of Scheduled Tribes and three seats reserved for Scheduled Castes.
Earlier, the Election Commission had announced the schedule of five-phase elections for 81 seats in Jharkhand State Assembly.
Second phase polling will be held on 7th of December which includes 20 seats, third phase for 17 seats on 12th December, fourth phase for 15 seats on 16th December while the polling for fifth phase for 16 seats will be held on 20th of December.
The counting of votes will be taken up together on 23rd of December.
