Today is the last day for filing of nomination papers for the single phase Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram. 

Polling for 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly and the 40-seat Mizoram Assembly will be held on the 28th of this month and the results will be announced on December 11. 

In Mizoram, 99 candidates from Congress, Mizo National Front (MNF), BJP and other parties filed nominations till yesterday.

high-level Election Commission team headed by Deputy Chief Election Commissioner Sudeep Jain will visit Aizawl today to hold meetings with state government officials and leaders of the NGO Coordination Committee. 

In Madhya Pradesh, more than 952 nomination forms have been filed so far in the state. 

The BJP and the Congress have announced their candidates for the 230-member Assembly.
