In poll bound West Bengal, filing of nomination papers for 62 Assembly seats begins today. The voting in these constituencies will be held on 21st April under the 3rd phase of polling. Candidates will be allowed to submit their nomination papers till 4th April. The scrutiny will be done the next day and withdrawal will be allowed till 7th April. Besides Uttar Kolkata, all the 3rd phase constituencies are part of Murshidabad, Nadia and
Burdwan districts.
The elections to the 294 seat West Bengal Assembly will be conducted in six voting phases, spread across seven polling days from 4th April to 5th May. Polling under the 1st phase will be held on two days. Votes for 18 seats of this phase will be cast on 4th April and polling for 31 more constituencies will be held on 11th April. The counting of all the constituencies will be done on 19th May.
