FIR Filed Against Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey

The Thane Nagar police registered an FIR against seven individuals, including former Mumbai Police Commissioner and ex-Maharashtra DGP Sanjay Pandey, for alleged irregularities, harassment, and forgery. The FIR was filed based on a complaint by businessman Sanjay Punamiya, who alleged that Pandey misused his position to initiate an illegal investigation against him and extorted money from him and other businessmen by threatening them with false



charges. 

Along with Pandey, the FIR also names retired ACP Sardar Patil, Police Inspector Manohar Patil, Advocate Shekhar Jagtap, builder Shyamsundar Agrawal, and two other members of the Agrawal family. Punamiya claimed that the accused illegally reopened a 2016 FIR against him with the Thane Nagar police to harass him, forged documents to deceive the courts, and attempted to extort money from him.
